The Bowen Technique
A brief overview of the Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that encourages the body to realign itself. This technique involves gentle rolling type movements over the muscle. By using a specific set of moves from the neck to the toes, it stimulates the body's innate system to realign and re-balance. If there are a lot of emotional stresses and strains, physically, this will be holding tension throughout the muscles, therefore Bowen will aid in releasing that emotional tension which is trapped within the muscles.
So, what can the Bowen Technique do for you?
The Bowen Technique is completely safe for the newborn baby to the frail and the elderly. It is a gentle, fast and effective way to treat health concerns from sporting injuries to pain, stress and discomfort, migraines and headaches. Bowen stimulates the patients musculoskeletal system into realigning itself.
The beauty of the Bowen Technique is that it will not interfere with and works well with all medication and/or dietary supplements. A treatment usually takes between 45 minutes to an hour and a full consultation will be taken upon the first session. The Bowen Technique is unique in its approach to get effective results. All treatments are done through light clothing.
Treatments are recommended once a week for three consecutive weeks to gain maximum potential from the sessions. This is to start breaking down any bad habits the body has gotten into over time and these should have started to change by the third session. Following the third session, if you have found benefit whether it be dramatic or subtle, we then recommend top up sessions every few weeks to maintain the new habit we are getting the body into and this will be suited to you as an individual.
